HP inkjet printer

Introduction

Picture this: You have a stack of holiday letters or invitations to your child’s birthday party, and you need to mail them quickly. Instead of addressing each one by hand, why not save time and money by printing directly on the envelopes? You can even go the extra mile and add colorful imagery and artwork to your envelopes. Your mailings will look neat and tidy, and your hand will thank you!

Thank you card from HP Acitivity Center
  • Get a high-cost look without breaking your budget by printing your own wedding invite envelopes. Experiment with fancy fonts to get the perfect look. You can even print in the color theme of your big day.
  • Add that extra touch with personalized thank-you card envelopes. When the event is over, guests will appreciate sophisticated, personalized envelopes with a personal note or salutation.
  • Make your envelope just as festive as the card inside by printing holiday images or designs inspired by special occasions on the front.
  • Print your favorite photo right onto the envelope. It’s perfect for birthday party invitations or baby shower thank-you notes.
  • Invite and intrigue guests with a scavenger hunt. Print “TOP SECRET” on each envelope, and place the first clue on the invites. Then mail out to friends and family, and let the hunt begin.

Tips for printing on envelopes

  • Printing on envelopes is easy using Microsoft Word. Go to Tools > Letters and Mailings > Envelopes and Labels and choose the Envelopes tab.
  • Printing on envelopes works best when you use envelopes made for your specific printer. Most HP greeting cards with envelopes are inkjet compatible. If you use a laser printer, check the envelope packaging to be sure the envelopes are compatible with your printer before buying.
  • Avoid buying envelopes that are loosely constructed and not sharply creased. Do not try to print on envelopes that have a clasp.
  • To print a long envelope, load it in your printer according to instructions in the manual. Be sure to slide the paper guide against the envelope to keep it from slipping.
  • If you’re printing a stack of envelopes, stack them loosely. If there are too many in the stack, it could cause a jam.
  • Most printers have built-in support for popular envelope sizes. Some even have special trays for feeding envelopes. If your printer has an envelope tray, enable the “Load from envelope tray” option in the Print dialog before loading the envelopes.
